About The White Mountains
The White Mountains are a huge mountain range covering a quarter of New Hampshire, and a small portion of Maine. There are 48 peaks, all over 4,000 feet tall. Mount Washington is in this range, which is the highest peak in the Northeast United States. The majority of the peaks are very rugged, and difficult to hike, making this mountain range ideal for more experienced hikers. Of course, there are also shorter and flater hikes for beginners who want to give hiking a shot.
