Camel's Hump

About Camel's Hump State Park

Camel's Hump State Park is undeveloped with no phone or other facilities, it is solely focused on hiking. It has been kept in a primitive state to preserve all the wildlife, and so your hike will be full of beautiful aspects of nature, and hopefully a few animals. Trails are open all year, but they are closed for a short season in the spring when they are very muddy, and it would be best to stay off them anytime the trails are excessively muddy. Additionally, camping is allowed on the trails, if you want to hike up the mountain, and see the sunrise from the peak in the morning!. This is one of the most well known mountains in Vewrmont, and is even featured on the state's quarter, and is a good hike for beginners.

The Trails

There are several trails on this mountain, although none of them are too difficult
The Monroe Trail is a little hard, and would be better for the more moderate or advanced hikers who want a bit more of a challenge than an easy stroll. The trail also gets pretty rugged near the summit, though it would be nothing too difficult.
There is also a loop that is an eigth of a mile long, and much easier. This trail would be perfect for anyone just starting out in hiking, children, or the eldery. Also, dogs are allowed on the trails, so this one would be good for people with pets. This has three viewing sports of the summit. This would be the easiest trail.
The Burrows Trail is between the previous two trails in difficulty, but is also pretty mild. This trail is a bit shorter than the others, but offers the same spectacular views. This trail also attracts the most visitors, so it is advised to arrive earlier in the morning to avoid a crowd.
